I thought I should write today, when I am in a good mood. Things just went really well today. I never quite know why, though, so it's hard to replicate! Was it that some kids were absent? Was it the six inches of snow? Was it me being in a good mood? Was it because I planned my lesson well? It's hard to say. But hey, I'll take it. And only eight more teaching days until the winter break. Mexico, here I come........
The snow is fun -- it snowed a bunch this weekend, and then again last night and through today. No more snow is forecast for a little while, but it's supposed to stay COLD, so it might stick around. It's so light, shoveling is not much of a chore, and it sure makes everything look pretty. I love the way my neighbors' Christmas lights shine up through the snow. I just wish they weren't pink.
Our annual party planned for this weekend -- an amalgam of holiday party and birthday party, with cocktail party thrown in for good measure. Everyone gets dressed up and we drink a lot of wine. I will try to take some pictures this year. It's always a good time, and a good mix of folks. Lots from my school, of course, but this year A actually invited some people too. I'm turning thirty, it's hard to believe. Sometimes I still feel...well, I can't put a specific year to the feeling. Younger than thirty, anyway. Although in many ways I am enjoying this age, being as 'grownup' as I am. I certainly don't want to go back to being eighteen, or twenty-three. Once was really enough.
Well, there's enough random thoughts for now.
