In an effort to answer this question, A and I have started a list of things we know how to cook and like to eat. We are always searching for dishes to add to it, but it serves in a pinch -- ie, when I come home from work starving. So far it looks something like this: chicken soup with noodles/potatoes/matzo balls; red beans and rice; tacos; spaghetti with sausage; ravioli; pasta salad; chicken/fish with potatoes and asparagus/broccoli; "ramen" (A makes a special homemade version which really deserves its own name); squash soup; stirfry; and various other dishes. Last week we made lasagne for the first time in ages, and promptly added it to the list.
We are, as mentioned, always on the lookout for new meals (or to be reminded about familiar meals we've forgotten that we know how to make). Any advice/suggestions/recipes would be welcome!

I recommend the food blogs! Check out my friend Laura's: mrs. delicious. She's always talking about what she's eaten lately.
Hi there,
Found your blog from a link on your comment on Megan's blog. I just wrote half a comment and then posted it by mistake, then deleted it, only to find that it leaves its mark as a deleted post. Ack!
Anyway, I would also recommend the food blogs! My favorites are Chocolate and Zucchini and The Passionate Cook.
Don't forget tofu burgers and brewers yeast gravy!
Ha, I have such a list. I just never remember to look at it. SOMEDAY I will master the concept of cookin dinner. Probably when Little T is eating solids and can say, "WHERE'S THE FOOD, MOM???"
