By reader demand (well, at least one reader), here is a photo of our new yard. The shrubs and bushes are new, along with the stone planter box. It used to be just a slope of grass, like you may be able to see in the yard beyond ours. The grass is new, too -- we had the top part laid with new sod. Hopefully it will all take, and survive the winter. If you look really closely, you can even see our new windows! They are white vinyl, and they actually open and close, unlike our old sticky wooden windows. Very exciting.

Looks awesome! I barely remember how it used to be... did you do some of it yourself? I'm glad you and the Christie's did it together, very nice.
I'll have to come visit soon, maybe next week when I'm actually back in Colorado! Ok it's a date.
Willow is home and pointed out your new yard on your blog. I hadn't checked it lately. It looks very nice, kind of like a formal English garden from the photo. Looks low maintenance which is key. Look forward to seeing it in person later this month.
